Powered by Green Kenosha, Green Street is an educational and inspirational day filled with interactive exhibits, workshops including alternative energy, conscious gardening, recycling and of course EcoKids “green” games. The first 200 visitors receive a free plant! Learn from Gateway Technical College instructors about geothermal solar and wind energies. Learn “why on EARTH should I” and “how on EARTH do I” recycle? Hands-on gardening including planting, deadheading, dividing, and general flower gardening. Learn what permaculture is all about, how to make your own compost (by Kate’s Green Circle), vermiculture (worms!), making living walls, saving money by growing your own vegetables and more. EcoKids free “green games” include old-fashioned games for kids from 4 to 104, including 4-square, Bag-O, clothespin drop, hula-hooping, jump rope and juggling. Also check out Kenosha Bicycle Ambassadors’ cool bike machines and art! See a detailed schedule at www.greenkenosha.org.

Green Kenosha will be responsible for all recycling materials during Bloomin’ Days. Please help us by being mindful when placing waste in the appropriate receptacles!

  • Event signs have been designed with reuse in mind. Each piece is made from environmentally friendly materials.
  • Ride your bike, carpool or take public transportation to our event.
  • Use recycling bins at the event.
